Software Engineer @ ReefnBid
ReefnBid is a real-time auction marketplace where people buy and sell live. I joined as an intern in October 2025 and converted to full-time in January 2026. Over about nine months I have shipped across the whole stack, a TypeScript monorepo, taking the customer-facing experience from a legacy Vue app to a modern React SPA and building the systems that let buyers and sellers bid, message, pay, and resolve disputes.
Tech stack
- ▸Shipped 100+ merged PRs across 150+ tickets in ~9 months on a real-time auction marketplace, working end to end across a TypeScript monorepo.
- ▸Led the migration of the customer-facing auction UI from a legacy Vue app to a modern React SPA (Vite, TanStack Router, Mantine), using an islands architecture to embed interactive React inside CMS-managed pages.
- ▸Built the real-time bidding engine on Socket.io: live bids, proxy and auto-bidding, reserve-price badges, countdown timers, and watchlists. Fixed a production auction-winner miscalculation and a self-competing proxy-bid bug.
- ▸Architected a unified buyer-seller messaging platform, collapsing scattered per-order and per-product threads into one conversation with sub-threads, a verified-payment gate, and dispute-lock states.
- ▸Implemented Stripe dispute and chargeback management: seller-owned counter-disputes, correct clawback accounting that excludes tax and commission, and a tiered chargeback-deterrent policy.
- ▸Delivered an end-to-end seller ratings system (media-rich, order-referenced reviews with email notifications) and branded, SEO-friendly seller profiles.
- ▸Hardened payments and reliability: fixed a Stripe idempotency-key collision causing customer-facing payment failures, added Redis reconnection, and hardened image uploads against out-of-memory crashes.
